Engineering Management
Engineering change and technical query management
Every change controlled, every question answered on time, and every decision implemented on the shop floor.
01What the service involves
QUALITAS TR manages the flow of technical questions and changes between your engineering team and the supplier. Technical queries (TQ) are logged, clarified and routed with a recommendation. Deviation and concession requests are assessed technically before reaching you. Engineering changes are assessed for impact on tooling, stock, work in progress, cost, schedule and inspection, then tracked until implemented and verified.
We maintain the change and query register, chase overdue answers on both sides and confirm that the agreed revision is in use at the supplier.
02Why buyers need it
Uncontrolled changes are a major source of nonconforming product: an old drawing on the machine, stock made to a previous revision, a concession applied beyond its scope. In long projects, slow technical answers are also a frequent cause of delay.
A single register and an owner on the ground fix both problems.
03Typical applications
- Projects with frequent design updates
- Product launches and industrialisation
- Multi-supplier assemblies
- Legacy products under continuous improvement
- Deviation and concession control
- Configuration management for regulated sectors
04Methodology
Register
Technical query and change register set up with numbering, owners and due dates.
Assessment
Each request assessed technically and for impact before routing.
Decision
Request presented to your engineering authority with a recommendation.
Implementation
Approved changes implemented at the supplier: documents, programmes, tooling, stock.
Verification
First parts after change inspected; register closed.
05Applicable standards and references
ISO 10007 gives guidance on configuration management, including change control and configuration status accounting. In automotive, changes may require PPAP resubmission under the customer's requirements.
