NDT and Material Testing
Laboratory testing and failure analysis coordination
Independent laboratory evidence when certificates are not enough: sampling, laboratory selection, witnessing and expert interpretation of results.
01What the service involves
QUALITAS TR selects and seals samples at the supplier, arranges testing at independent laboratories whose accreditation scope covers the required tests, witnesses tests when needed and interprets the results against the specification.
Typical tests include tensile, yield and elongation, Charpy impact, hardness, bend tests, chemical composition, metallographic examination (microstructure, grain size, inclusion content, case depth), corrosion tests and coating tests. For failures we coordinate failure analysis: visual and fractographic examination, metallography and chemical analysis, leading to a conclusion on the failure mechanism.
02Why buyers need it
Third-party laboratory tests resolve disputes and verify critical properties independently of the supplier. They are also the basis for failure investigations that lead to effective corrective action.
Correct sampling and correct interpretation are as important as the test itself.
03Typical applications
- Verification of critical material properties
- Disputes over certificate values
- New supplier material approval
- Heat treatment verification
- Field failure investigations
- Weld procedure qualification testing
04Methodology
Test plan
Tests, standards, specimen locations and acceptance criteria defined.
Sampling
Samples selected and identified at the supplier under our supervision.
Laboratory
Laboratory chosen by accreditation scope and capability; samples dispatched.
Testing
Tests witnessed where required; results received.
Interpretation
Results evaluated by our metallurgist and reported with conclusions.
05Applicable standards and references
Laboratories are selected according to their ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope for the specific test method. Test methods follow ISO, EN or ASTM standards as named in the specification, for example ISO 6892-1 for tensile testing and ISO 148-1 for Charpy impact testing.
06Deliverables
- Test plan
- Sampling record with seal numbers
- Laboratory reports
- Technical evaluation report
- Failure analysis report where applicable
07Customer benefits
- Independent verification of properties
- Evidence for disputes and claims
- Root causes of failures identified
- Right laboratory for each test
- Expert interpretation
08How QUALITAS TR supports you
QUALITAS TR does not operate a laboratory, which keeps us independent in laboratory selection. We select accredited laboratories across Turkey according to the test required.
