Welding is a special process: its quality cannot be fully verified on the finished product. We control it where it is decided, in procedures, qualifications, consumables and execution.
Overview
A fillet weld can look perfect and still lack fusion at the root. That is why welding standards treat welding as a special process and require qualified procedures, qualified welders, controlled consumables and supervised execution. Final visual inspection and NDT are necessary, but they are the last line of defence.
QUALITAS TR verifies the complete welding quality chain at fabricators: welding procedure specifications (WPS) and their supporting qualification records (PQR or WPQR), welder and operator qualifications, consumable storage and traceability, preheat and interpass control, visual inspection to the specified quality level, and the planning and evaluation of NDT.
We also cover the wider fabrication scope that determines whether a structure or vessel performs: fit-up and dimensional control of welded assemblies, heat treatment records, surface preparation, painting and hot-dip galvanizing, and the final fabrication dossier.
Each service page explains scope, methodology, standards and deliverables.
Before, during and after welding inspection: consumables, fit-up, preheat, parameters, visual inspection and repair control.
Review of welding procedures and qualification records against ISO 15614, ISO 9606, ASME IX or AWS, and test witnessing.
Inspection of structural steel and fabricated assemblies: materials, welding, dimensions, bolting, coating and EN 1090 execution class requirements.
Inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and piping during fabrication, including pressure test witnessing and dossier review.
Surface preparation, paint application, DFT, adhesion and hot-dip galvanizing inspection against the coating specification.
Welding and fabrication activities we inspect, review or witness.
How we work
Each link is checked against the code or standard named in your specification.
WPS content checked against the qualification range of the supporting PQR or WPQR for process, material group, thickness, position, consumables and heat input.
Welder and operator certificates checked for validity, range and revalidation. Welding coordination personnel identified.
Base material certificates, consumable certificates and storage conditions verified, including baking and holding of low hydrogen electrodes.
Fit-up, preheat, interpass temperature and welding parameters observed during production.
Visual inspection to the specified quality level, NDT witnessing or review, repair control and final documentation.

No. Certification is issued by certification bodies and, for EN 1090, by notified bodies. We assess fabricators against these requirements for buyers, support gap closure and inspect production.
Yes, we witness test coupon welding and testing on behalf of the buyer. The certificate itself is issued by the examiner or examining body required by the standard.
