Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Nonconformity, root cause analysis and CAPA management
When something goes wrong, the response decides whether it happens again. We manage nonconformities from containment to verified, effective corrective action.
01What the service involves
QUALITAS TR manages nonconformities found at Turkish suppliers or reported from your plant or the field. The work covers immediate containment (stock, work in progress, shipped goods), structured root cause analysis with the supplier, definition of corrective and preventive actions, and on-site verification that the actions have been implemented and are effective.
We use recognised methods such as 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa analysis and process data review, and we insist on evidence at each step.
02Why buyers need it
Many supplier corrective action reports name 'operator error' as root cause and 'operator retrained' as the action. Such reports rarely prevent recurrence. Independent facilitation and verification turn corrective action into real process change.
For buyers far from the supplier, on-site verification is often the only way to know whether a promised action actually exists.
03Typical applications
- Customer complaints and field failures
- Repeated nonconformities on incoming inspection
- Rejected lots at pre-shipment inspection
- Audit findings requiring corrective action
- Escalated or controlled shipping conditions
- Warranty claims requiring technical evidence
04Methodology
Describe and contain
Problem defined with facts. Suspect stock identified and contained at supplier, in transit and at the buyer.
Analyse
Root cause investigated for occurrence and for non-detection, with data and physical evidence.
Act
Corrective actions chosen to remove causes; preventive actions extended to similar products and processes.
Verify
Implementation checked on site; effectiveness confirmed with subsequent production data.
Close and learn
Control plan, FMEA and work instructions updated. NCR closed with evidence.
Pareto of root causes across supplier NCRs
Root cause categories from a year of nonconformities at one supplier.
Method or work instruction: 31; Machine or tooling: 22; Material: 14; Measurement: 11; Operator skill: 8; Environment: 4
05Applicable standards and references
ISO 9001 requires organisations to react to nonconformities, evaluate the need for action to eliminate causes and review the effectiveness of corrective action. Automotive customers usually require 8D reporting and updates to the FMEA and control plan under IATF 16949.
06Deliverables
- Nonconformity report (NCR) with classification
- Containment record
- 8D or root cause report review
- Corrective action verification report
- Closure recommendation with evidence
07Customer benefits
- Fewer repeat problems
- Faster, fact-based containment
- Credible corrective actions
- Better supplier capability over time
- Documented evidence for claims
08How QUALITAS TR supports you
We bridge language and culture in root cause discussions, which matters: suppliers explain problems more openly in their own language to an engineer who understands the process. Findings are reported to you in English with evidence.
